(NewsNation) — The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill fraternity brothers who protected a U.S. flag from protesters in April will be honored Labor Day at “Flagstock.”

The musical event is headed by country star John Rich, who told NewsNation in May that his duo Big & Rich might just pen a song about the moment in history.

He also said their appearance would be free of charge for the fraternity.

“When I saw the guys at UNC holding that flag up, making sure it did not hit the ground, it told me a lot about them,” Rich said.

More than half a million dollars was donated to a GoFundMe titled “UNC Frat Bros Defended their Flag. Throw ‘em a Rager” following their counterprotest.

“I hope that these guys inspire … young patriots across the country to do the exact same thing,” Rich told “On Balance with Leland Vittert.”

The event will not be held on UNC’s campus and is not affiliated with the school.

“The University upholds and supports the freedoms of others to assemble, express their thoughts and hold events. The Flagstock event is not a university-sponsored event,” a university statement reads in part.

The frat brothers also made an appearance at this year’s Republican National Convention, with the Trump campaign commending them for their patriotic deeds.

Another vocal supporter is Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who sent Chick-fil-A orders to the group and other protesters for “protecting Old Glory.”

Here’s the ‘Flagstock’ line up:

  • Big & Rich
  • Lee Greenwood
  • Aaron Lewis
  • Five For Fighting
  • Cowboy Troy
  • Angie Aparo
  • Rome Ramirez
  • Jeffrey Steele
