Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld heckled again in Sydney over Israel support

Jerry Seinfeld has been called a “hack” and a “fraud” by pro-Palestinian protesters interrupting his second show in Sydney on Tuesday.

Footage from inside ICC Sydney Theatre showed two men standing up and yelling at the legendary comedian, calling out “free Palestine” and raising the Palestinian flag.

The crowd appeared to boo the pair, with Seinfeld sarcastically adding: “You’re doing great. You’re getting them on your side, can you hear it? It’s working.”

Seinfeld, who is Jewish, made a solidarity visit to Israel at the end of 2023 and also met with families of hostages taken by Hamas.

His gig at the Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday night was also interrupted by an anti-Isreal audience member.

Seinfeld mocked the man for interrupting the performance on that occasion too.

“We have a genius ladies and gentlemen, he solved the Middle East,” Seinfeld said.

“They’re going to start punching you in about three seconds so I would try to get all of your genius out so we can all learn from you.

“You’re really influencing everyone here. We’re all on your side now because you’ve made your point so well, and in the right venue, you’ve come to the right place for a political conversation.

“You have to go 20,000 miles from the problem and screw up a comedian, that is how you solve world issues.”

His comments were met with loud applause from the audience.

The TV star offered a blunt response to 7NEWS when asked about the incident on Tuesday afternoon.

“You were saying the other night (a comedy show) is not the place to solve the world’s problems, it’s just a place for you to make some jokes?” 7NEWS reporter Tom Sacre said, to which Seinfeld replied, “What do you think?”.

The star was more chatty when asked about his time down under, as he walked near Sydney Harbour Bridge on Tuesday.

“We love it, we love the Australian people, we are here to put smiles on their faces and that’s what we’re gonna do tonight,” he said.
