Kamala Harris, Donald Trump Ramp Up 2024 Campaigns: Latest Updates

With just 71 days until the Nov. 5 election, both campaigns are engaged in an all-out sprint to the finish line, with Walz urging crowds, “We’ll sleep when we’re dead.”

Harris and Walz this week will embark on a bus tour of southern Georgia, with Harris capping the tour with a solo rally in Savannah. The tour was originally scheduled earlier this month but was postponed by Tropical Storm Debby.

Trump, meanwhile, will make appearances in Michigan on Monday and Thursday (making that three visits to the battleground state in nine days), with a stop in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on Thursday, and Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on Friday. Sources told CNN the 78-year-old will be holding smaller, hopefully more focused events, while Vance shoulders a heavier travel load through November. Vance this week is scheduled to appear in Big Rapids, Michigan, on Tuesday.

Behind the scenes, both candidates will also be preparing for the Sept. 10 debate. Trump has reportedly been working with former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, whose debate performance against Harris in the 2020 primaries Trump wants to emulate.

At the same time, Trump once again seems to be laying the groundwork to back out of the debate.
