Jennifer Lawrence captured on camera after losing out at Golden Globes: ‘I’m leaving’

Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence threatened to hit the exit door at the 2024 Golden Globes if she didn’t win in her category.

J-Law, as she’s affectionately known, was nominated in the Best Actress (Musical or Comedy) category for her role in No Hard Feelings.

But it wasn’t to be her night — or Margot Robbie’s, who was also nominated in the same category.

Both lost out to Emma Stone in Poor Things, the under-the-radar hit of the night.

As an announcer read out the nominees, a camera panned to Lawrence, who appeared to jokingly mouth the words: “If I don’t win, I’m leaving!”

When the footage was posted to X (formerly Twitter), fans had a field day.

“Hahahahaha love her,” one fan wrote.

Another simply dropped two crying laughing emojis.

Still, Lawrence shouldn’t have been too grumpy about the loss.

The 33-year-old has already won three Golden Globes — Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) for Silver Linings Playbook (2012) and Joy (2015), and Best Supporting Actress for American Hustle (2013).

She’s also won an Academy Award for Silver Linings Playbook, and a host of BAFTAs, MTV Awards, People’s Choice and Saturn Awards for her roles in The Hunger Games and the X-Men series.

Lawrence’s mock dummy spit was about the most dramatic thing to happen at this year’s Golden Globes, held on Sunday night local time at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Hollywood.

It was a mostly scandal-free night, with winners given limited time to make acceptance speeches and last-minute host Jo Koy failing to set the room on fire with his somewhat nervous opening monologue.

On the fashion front, the red carpet players kept it safe — including Lawrence, who opted for a chic but unremarkable black gown matched with side-swept hair and a classic diamond necklace and earring combination.

During the awards ceremony, there were a few highlights amid an otherwise underwhelming night.

Accepting his award for Best Supporting Actor in Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr joked: “I took a beta blocker, so this should be a breeze!”

Emotions ran high as Lily Gladstone won Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) for Killers of the Flower Moon, the first Indigenous American to do so.

“I just spoke a bit of Blackfeet language, a beautiful community and nation that raised me, that encouraged me to keep going, keep doing this,” the 37-year-old actress said.

“This is an historic win, and it doesn’t belong to just me.

“This is for every every little Native kid out there who has a dream.”

The next awards ceremony on the 2024 circuit will be the Emmys on January 15, having been postponed four months due to the writers and actors strikes.
