Jack Black’s comedy rock duo Tenacious D is under fire after the star’s bandmate Kyle Gass made a sick joke about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a Sydney show at the weekend.
The pair were performing at Sydney’s International Convention Centre on Sunday night, hours after Trump was fired upon at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee suffered an injury to his ear in the attack on Saturday afternoon (US time), which also killed a rally attendee.

Gass was celebrating his 64th birthday on stage, when Black presented him with a cake, in a video shared on TikTok.
“Make a wish,” the School Of Rock star said.
“Don’t miss Trump next time,” Gass replied.

A number of fans took to TikTok to slam the comments, labelling them in bad taste.
“Imagine if it was Joe Biden on the receiving end. People would be losing their minds. Double standards,” one fan wrote.
“Sick joke!! Awful. Never watch (the band again),” another added.
“Classy!” yet another wrote.
The FBI identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who was killed at the rally after he opened fire on the Republican presumptive nominee.
Crooks had opened fire at the presumptive Republican nominee from a nearby rooftop, before he was shot and killed by officers at the event.
Firefighter Corey Comperatore died at the rally after he was hit by a bullet.
Trump was interviewed by a New York Post journalist aboard his private jet a day later, calling the incident a “very surreal experience”.
“The doctor at the hospital said he never saw anything like this, he called it a miracle,” Trump, who was wearing a white bandage over his right ear, told the Post.
“I’m not supposed to be here, I’m supposed to be dead.”
