“There are certain characteristics of Italian that may contribute to its appeal,” Babbel’s Noel Wolf, a language teacher and content creator, told Britain’s Daily Mail.
“The rise and fall of pitch in spoken Italian can create a musical quality, which some people find alluring and attractive. Certain phonetic features, such as the rolling of R sounds, can be distinctive in Italian, which to many is regarded as charming or attractive.”
Poll respondents also said German was the “most direct” language, while English was rated as the “most polite.”
In two past surveys by Babbel, French and Irish accents were rated as the most sexiest.

Meanwhile, the survey also sought to identify attitudes between couples who speak different languages.
Of the Brits polled, 70% said if their partner spoke another language, learning it would make them feel more emotionally connected.
However, just over a quarter of the Brits surveyed felt hearing “I love you” means more in their partner’s first language.
