On Instagram on Thursday, the 55-year-old star shared a video of himself lifting a barbell inside a gym as his trainer — and a furry friend — gave encouragement.
“When I was #becomingwolverineagain my friend and trainer Beth Lewis was always by my side,” the video was captioned.
“And so too was her trusted assistant Andy!” he added, referring to the cute doggo.
In the video, Jackman looks ready to burst as he grimaces lifting the incredibly heavy-looking weights.
“Last one, lean back a little bit, there you go, gotta find that angle,” Lewis can be heard saying as Jackman shakes his head.
“Come on,” he tells himself, before Andy starts barking in the background.
“I got it, Andy!” Jackman jokes as the camera pans across to the trainer’s adorable-looking pooch.
“Andy tell him, tell him Andy, one more!” Lewis laughs as Jackman finally takes a rest.
A number of celebrity fans dropped into the comments section to give Jackman a gentle ribbing.
“So weird, I have an Andy that likes to come over and watch me do curls too,” Hamish Blake said, referring to his comedy sidekick Andy Lee.
“Letttsss gooo daddy!!!!” added fellow actor Channing Tatum, who is not unfamiliar with the inside of a gym himself.
“Come on mate, you got this!” added Next Top Model photographer Nigel Barker.
“Huge Jacked Man,” another fan wrote.
“Ripped!” said another, while another simply said: “Dayummm.”
Amongst a plethora of “fire” and bulging bicep emojis, others were genuinely appreciative of the work Jackman was doing to “become Wolverine again”.
“Activating Beast Mode! Well done Wolverine,” one follower wrote.
“You’re doing really well Hugh, keep up the good work!”
“My arms hurt watching this,” joked another.
Some fans thought Andy the dog was the real star of the video.
“Aww Andy was a great motivator for you. But it looks like he was injured as he had a ring around his neck,” one fan noted.
“Did Andy over do the weight training?? ❤”
“Literally barking orders at you,” another joked.
“This video was so serious until the puppy with the donut around his neck at the end,” added a third.
“Love this!”
Last week, Jackman posted a very different video, in which he addressed bullying and what people could do if they were experiencing it.
In the brief video, Jackman assured bullying victims that they were not alone and urged people to speak to parents, teachers, coaches or a school principal.
“Please ask for help, there is help available,” he said.
“So do not worry alone.”
Fans praised the star for taking time to send the message.
“Such good advice,” one fan wrote.
Thank you for sharing this, Hugh,” added another.
“The legend that is Hugh Jackman talking sense,” wrote a third.
