Six different drivers have won a Supercars race so far in 2024, proving that this weekend’s Darwin Triple Crown is anyone’s for the taking.
Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Will Brown arrives at Hidden Valley Raceway as the championship leader, with three wins to his name already. The 2024 recruit, racing for Erebus Motorsport last season, has claimed race victories at the first three rounds of the season in Bathurst, Melbourne and Taupō in New Zealand.

Brown returns to Australia after making a cameo appearance in the NASCAR Cup Series last weekend.
The 26-year-old Queenslander travelled to Sonoma Raceway in California steering the #33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. It was the same car reigning Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki piloted at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August last year.
Brown’s teammate, Broc Feeney, is the only other driver to notch up multiple race victories this season, also chalking three to his name. The 21-year-old star is 136 points behind Brown, with two 48-lap races scheduled worth 150 points each this weekend.
Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Chaz Mostert will seek his second victory of the season, after winning Saturday’s race at the Perth SuperSprint last time out. Tickford Racing’s Cam Waters took out the Sunday race and sits fourth in the championship on 700 points.
Waters also contested the NASCAR Cup Series race in the United States on the weekend in the #60 RFK Racing Ford. Supercars’ presence at Sonoma was strong with three-time champion Shane van Gisbergen claiming his second victory of the year in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The New Zealander made a full-time move Stateside to take on the NASCAR feeder series this year in a bid to reach the Cup Series, the pinnacle of racing in the United States.
Plenty of eyes will be on 22-year-old rising star Cooper Murray as he makes his Supercars debut this weekend, buckling up in Triple Eight’s wildcard entry. The Victorian will drive the #888 Supercheap Auto Camaro ahead of contesting the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000 with three-time champion Craig Lowndes.

This is the fourth year Triple Eight has run the #888 wildcard, with Murray the latest young driver to get behind the wheel. He joins the likes of Broc Feeney, Declan Fraser and Zane Goddard to have steered the car in the past.
This weekend sees the majority of the grid don striking new liveries for the Supercars Championship’s official Indigenous Round as teams travel over 3,700 kilometres from their Melbourne and Brisbane bases to race in the Top End.
Seven’s resident motorsport experts, Jack Perkins and Sunrise Sport Presenter Mark Beretta, will take viewers live to Hidden Valley Raceway for a weekend jam-packed with action, kicking off from 12pm AEST on Saturday afternoon.
