The 39 Steps has wowed audiences for years, and after a bout of absence, it is finally on its way back to UK stages this year.
For the first time in almost ten years, The 39 Steps will be making a return to the West End this year at the Trafalgar Theatre.
After previously closing down in 2015, the adventure-comedy will be playing in London from August 16, 2024, to September 28, 2024.
The 39 Steps follows hero Richard Hannay as he gets caught in some “riotous trouble”. Along the way, he finds himself trapped some harrowing situations, including double-crossing secret agents, unexpected murders, and coercing with many women. Of course, he does all of this with a stiff upper lip and a fabulous moustache.
Tickets are out now, and you can get yours from a number of online retailers.
The 39 Steps has a particularly exciting legacy, as it started its journey as a book originally written by John Buchan in 1915.
In 1935, Alfred Hitchcock adapted the book into a British spy thriller movie, starring Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll.
Decades later, it hit stages on the Wet End and – subsequently – the rest of the world, where it took Broadway by storm. And, now, the Trafalgar Theatre.
The Trafalgar Theatre is located at 14 Whitehall, London SW1A 2DY.
The closest tube stations to the renowned venue are Charing Cross and Embankment.
