Helldivers 2 has made a big splash since launching on PS5 and Steam this month, selling more than a million units in the space of a week. While the game has managed to exceed all expectations, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Sony’s latest action adventure. With online multiplayer playing such a pivotal part in the overall experience, it’s been disappointing to see so many server issues and matchmaking problems crop up during its first few days on sale. Fortunately, however, developer Arrowhead has released a big new update to tackle the teething problems at launch.
According to the Helldivers 2 patch notes, the new update aims to address three major issues that have been plaguing the game since launch.
As you can see from the patch notes below, Arrowhead has managed to improve general game stability, which should lead to a smoother experience.
In theory, the new update should also eliminate most of the connectivity and disconnect issues. This means you shouldn’t get booted out of a mission while you’re halfway through.
Perhaps most important of all, however, are the preparations Arrowhead has made for the upcoming server matchmaking improvements.
You can see the other bug fixes, gameplay tweaks and improvements in the Helldivers 2 patch notes below.
