Hadestown received a nomination for Best Musical Revival at the Olivier Awards 2024, and with good reason. The Greek myth musical follows the touching story of Eurydice, a sweet young girl trapped in Hell by Hades, being saved by her poor singer-songwriter boyfriend Orpheus.
While hugely popular now, it originally hit stages back in 2006 before finding its audience in London’s West End. It has since become a cultural phenomenon over the past 20 years, with stints in Broadway and London throughout the years.
The 2024 revival, which is being homed in London’s Lyric Theatre, has been equally lauded, winning eight Tony Awards, as well as receiving plenty of glowing reviews, including the Guardian and WhatsOnStage to name just a couple.
