More details have emerged of how the body of a man who went swimming at a waterfall in the NSW Northern Tablelands was found by police divers.
Emergency services were called to Dangar Falls on Coramba Rd about 5pm on Sunday after the 31-year-old man failed to resurface.

The man’s body was later found on Monday, about 1.50pm, by police divers.
Friends of the man say he was swimming in the falls when he started to panic.
7NEWS understands he was waving to his friends and calling out that he’d felt something in the water, before he started to sink.
The swimming hole is becoming increasingly popular among tourists, however, is also quickly becoming a fatal attraction.
Since August 2023, three people have died at the spot.
But heartbroken locals who are familiar with the area have told 7NEWS they would never think of swimming at the spot.
“We’re just devastated by this,” a local man said.
The man added the water runs extremely fast at the falls, making it “very dangerous”.
“The locals would never think of going into it … but strangers don’t know,” he said.
The destination also features a 30m drop to the swimming hole below.
Locals are now pushing for more signage in the area to alert swimmers of the dangers.
In late January, a 34-year-old man died at the spot while swimming, while another man failed to resurface and died at the spot in August.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
