In the photo, Denyer is looking up and away from the camera, looking lost in thought.
“Look at this unit … No ear pods. No Netflix. No screen. No podcasts. No music,” he wrote.
“Just sitting there, with his thoughts.
“Like a MF psychopath.”
Many of Denyer’s Instagram followers were stunned that he managed to get through a 90-minute flight without looking at a device.
“I’ll be on a plane to Perth later today. This has reminded me to pack headphones,” one follower wrote.
“Why are you even allowed on board?” joked another.
“No headphones, no phone?
“Did anyone ask if you were OK?”
“As an ADHD-er with a fear of my internal thoughts, this sounds like my hell,” observed another.
“Don’t do it! Distract! Distract!” wrote a third.
But others said they might try the technology-free approach the next time they fly.
“Mate, your brain is better than any streaming service,” wrote comedian Dave Hughes.
“Watch those thoughts. They are epic.
“Also, if it’s daylight, look out the f****** window.
“You’re higher than the birds.”
“I still fly’unplugged’,” said another.
“Read, sleep, stare out the window!”
“I started doing this while waiting for a doctor’s appointment as the zombies around me stared down at their phones,” one follower admitted.
But one had a good point to make about Denyer’s post.
“No screens? Suspicious how we managed to get a photo then,” they wrote.
“Hahaa ! U got me,” Denyer responded.
“No entertainment, though.
“No shows, no music, no podcasts, no reading.”
‘Life-changing’ hack
Denyer has been delighting his fans with random travel anecdotes lately.
He recently posted about an in-flight hack he’d previously never been aware of.
It was for all the travellers who hate touching a plane’s toilet bin when they go to dispose of their hand towels.
On a flight back from Fiji, Denyer discovered a foot pedal below the toilet roll holder that he had never noticed before.
One press down on the pedal and the bin lid automatically shot up, meaning he could drop stuff into the bin without having to manually lift the lid.
“The bin is always full for me and I hate touching the bin,” he wrote.
“Did you know about it?”
He then panned back down to the foot pedal to once again show his viewers where it was located.
It was clearly a life-changing, lightbulb moment for Denyer, who announced that he had found a great “plane hack”.
Denyer was on his way home from a family holiday with wife Chezzi and their three children, Sailor, Scout and Sunday.
Before flying out, he posted an idyllic-looking picture of the family standing on the beach with bright blue skies behind them.
“A snorkel before breakfast. Beautiful sand. Beautiful sun,” he captioned the picture.
“Just a glorious moment in time that I’m trying to soak up.”
