A Queensland mother is taking on her local council after being fined almost $200 for parking in her own driveway.
Gold Coast resident Megan Pass was hit with a $193 fine for parking in her Pimpama driveway in December and has slammed the penalty as revenue raising.

City officers alleged the mother-of-three was breaking a local law by blocking other vehicles from accessing council land.
“I got a lovely fine from Gold Coast City Council for parking in my own driveway,” she told 7NEWS.
“This doesn’t make sense.
“Everybody I’ve shared this with is going, ‘What the hell?’”
Pass said she has parked her car in her driveway every day for the past seven years and believes she has done nothing wrong.
“I’m not parking across a footpath … that I would’ve understood,” she said.
However, mayor Tom Tate claims the rules are clear.
“The driveway is actually on council land,” he told 7NEWS.
“It’s a safety issue … that’s why they’ve issued it, and it’s part of the local law.”
Local legislation says drivers cannot park in a way that blocks access to a path or a driveway — this includes their own driveway.
“You must not stop for more than two minutes across a driveway or across any other access for vehicles,” the council website states.
Drivers can stop for up to two minutes if they are dropping off or picking up passengers, do not leave their vehicle unattended and move within two minutes.
Instead, Tate suggested drivers “park in the street or inside the house”.
