Witness Vanessa Cossettini was standing at a Capalaba bus stop about 9am on Tuesday when a bus pulled in and she saw “a very young woman walk up to the front of the bus, screaming, carrying on, saying all sorts of vile language” before she started allegedly “physically attacking a very elderly woman”.

“The bus pulled up as everything was happening,” Cossettini told 7NEWS.

“I pulled up to the window, banged on the window, pleading with the bus driver to open the door.”

For reasons unknown, the bus driver initially refused to open the bus doors.

“She looked at me and she shook her head,” Cossettini said of the driver.

“I tried distracting the young woman, she’s bashing this old lady, pulling her hair.

“The woman’s screaming for help. It was horrific, you could see the blood coming down her face.

“Just hearing her scream and to see her locked in the bus, not being able to do anything, it was just seriously traumatic.

“You were watching this awful thing unfold, there was nothing you could do.”

When the bus driver did open the doors, the girl’s alleged “rampage” continued, Cossettini said.

“She came at me, she was swearing at me, telling me she was going to kill me,” she said.

Bystanders and security guards were unable to calm the girl down, according to Cossettini.

It wasn’t until police arrived and arrested her that the ordeal ended.

“That;’s what stopped her. There was no civilian that could have stopped this woman. She was just uncontrollable,” Cossettini said.

She described the alleged victim as “feeble” and “a little old lady probably just doing her grocery shop”.

The woman had “blood all over her face and her nose” and “her hair was all roughed up because the young lady had been pulling at her hair”, Cossettini said.

The girl was charged with two counts of assault and appeared in Cleveland Children’s Court on Wednesday.

7NEWS was denied access to the court hearing, due to the matter involving a juvenile, in which the girl was granted bail.

“She started it and I finished it. That’s all I’m gonna say,” the girl said outside court.

A woman accompanying the girl as she left court told 7NEWS when asked about her alleged actions said: “It’s embarrassing. Now f*** off.”
