Kate Middleton delighted royal fans when she appeared at Trooping the Colour in a stunning monochrome outfit to celebrate the King’s birthday.
The Princess of Wales has been taking time off and staying away from public duties since she announced her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. In a message the day before Trooping the Colour, Princess Kate said she had been “blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement”, but added she is not “out of the woods yet”.
On Saturday, the mum-of-three looked elegant as ever in a black and white dress similar to the one she wore last May before King Charles’ Coronation. Crafted from one of her favourite British designers, Jenny Peckham, it’s a custom white dress with long sleeves and a black trim detail at the waist and around the collar.
Prices of Jenny Peckham dresses start from four figures including a Honeybee crystal-embellished crepe peplum midi dress, which comes with a price tag of £1,635.
Body language expert Judi Jamese mentioned that Kate’s choice of hat was a “subtle tribute to King Charles”. She told the Sun that the way her hat brim was tilted to partially hide her face in the carriage was probably a “hint of discretion to not upstage King Charles”.
“Her wave to the crown involved closed rather than spread fingers and it was a quick, subtle movement of acknowledgement, again suggesting a desire to avoid stealing the attention on the celebration of the King’s birthday,” she added.
