Germany v Denmark LIVE: Latest score as Christian Eriksen searches for goal against Euro 2024 hosts

29 mins: Andreas Skov Olsen brings Denmark forward and picks Joakim Maehle who cuts inside. He gets to the edge of the box before being taken out by Robert Andrich.

Free kick Denmark in a dangerous area.

26 mins: Musiala looks to dribble into the box from the left but gets dispossessed by a fine sliding tackle from Jannik Vestegaard. The match is settling down into a more sedate tempo.

Denmark are making a better go of things in midfield with Thomas Delaney and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg closing Ilkay Gundogan down nicely.

A hopeful long ball is exceptionally played over to Christian Eriksen who darts in behind Antonio Rudiger and brings the ball down with the most perfect of touches.

He shifts the ball around the defender but Rudiger manages to recover and get in the block!

He needed to stop that as it was heading for goal. Better from Denmark.

20 mins: Denmark are really struggling to get a foothold in the match. When they get up the pitch Germany’s defensive line is on top of them quickly and there’s little room for the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen to operate.

It’s tough going but they’re slowly starting to settle.

17 mins: Christian Eriksen gets the chance to work the ball into the box from a free kick. He only pings it to Kai Havertz who clears the danger then feeds Leroy Sane for the counter attack.

Sane can’t get around Alexander Bah so cuts inside and wins a free kick after Andreas Christensen brings him down.

Toni Kroos takes the free kick and goes for goal but only hits the effort into the wall.

14 mins: Jamal Musiala shoots from range but pulls the effort wide. Germany are splitting Denmark apart with cross field passes, quick runs and shots galore.

It’s been a hurried start for the Danes who are trying to find a touch of composure.

Kai Havertz rolls off the shoulder of Jaochim Andersen and sprints into the box as the ball is flicked over the top. The German striker hits a decent effort at goal but Kasper Schmeichel drops to the left and uses his body to turn the ball wide of the target.

8 mins: Another corner from Toni Kroos finds Nico Schlotterbeck who nods another effort at goal. Kasper Schmeichel takes no chances this time and flaps it wide of the far post.

The resultant corner is then cleared by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

5 mins: The goal is ruled out on the field by the referee who saw an infringement in the box. The defender marking Schlotterbeck was apparantly stopped from doing his job so the goal doesn’t stand.

Seems a harsh decision based on the replays.

4 mins: David Raum brings down an aerial pass and touches the ball into the box. Alexander Bah manages to recover and pokes the ball out for a corner.

The corner is whipped into the box where Nico Schlotterbeck leaps above everyone else. He meets the ball and powers it into the back of the net!
