Friends of Rachel Antonoff Celebrate 15 Years of Her Namesake Brand

On the second Monday in May, friends, family, and fashion lovers gathered in their most “eccentrically elegant” attire to celebrate Rachel Antonoff’s 15th year as a brand. Hosted inside the cozy corners of the Brooklyn Heights family-favorite hotspot, Noodle Pudding, the evening saw the likes of Dylan O’Brien, Beanie Feldstein, Busy Phillips, Lauren Graham, B.J. Novak, Ziwe Fumudoh, Clairo, and Antonoff’s brother, Jack Antonoff—among many other fashion figures—dancing, mingling, and indulging in the best bites the restaurant has to offer. Upon entering, there was no way to miss the custom food installations by Bad Taste by Jen Monroe—which included a spaghetti and meatball tower and “house salad”—maximalist decor hung on the walls, and creative cocktails that kept guests wanting to go back for more.

Antonoff described the vision behind the event as “what the inside of [her] brain looks like”: delightfully dysfunctional. And after 15 years, she figured it was time to go all out to honor her namesake’s evolution—surrounded by some of the most important people in her life.

Antonoff built the brand off the idea of personalization, and that clothes can tell one’s individualized story; one of her dresses could be worn on a first date (good or bad!); a skirt could be worn on the first day of a dream job; and a top could be worn while drinking a really great cup of coffee on a beautiful spring day in New York. She wants her pieces to be remembered by others, and for those wearing them to remember the moments when they actually did.

Aside from the unconventional, yet beautiful ethos of Rachel Antonoff, the brand, there’s an aspect of family and familiarity that is evident throughout—and was certainly present during the party. Antonoff gushed that her loved ones have been supportive from the start, and even take part in modeling her clothes for various campaigns. Plus, her dad, Rick Antonoff, even took the stage with musician Claud for a special short performance, including a cover of ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ by The Beatles, during the soirée. Every detail of the evening was carefully curated—which made for an inclusive experience as a guest.

Following the entertainment, a celebratory proclamation of “happy birthday” echoed throughout the space to appropriately acknowledge the brand’s anniversary—coupled with a bright and bold cake (which, by the way, was as tasty as it looked). Not a bad way to spend a Monday night!
