A close friend of a woman killed in a stabbing attack at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney on Saturday saw the victim just hours before her death.
Maroubra artist Pikria Darchia, 55, was one of six people killed when Queenslander Joel Cauchi went on a stabbing rampage at the busy shopping centre on Saturday afternoon.
It is believed she has two sons and is originally from Georgia in Eastern Europe.

Close friend Nicole Mikhailidi caught up with Darchia for coffee just hours before the attack.
“It’s crazy to think we said goodbye, and it was the last time we would ever see her,” she told 7NEWS.
“When I think about what she must have gone through in those moments …. that horrific fear and helplessness.
“It makes me sick to the stomach, really.”
Cauchi was shot dead by police after fatally stabbing five women and one man and injuring others, including a nine-month-old baby.
The baby’s mother, Ashlee Good, 38, died trying to save her when they were both attacked.
Good succumbed to her injuries in hospital, while her nine-month-old continues to fight and was moved from the ICU onto a ward on Tuesday.
Good’s family earlier said they were “reeling from the terrible loss of Ashlee, a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, partner, friend, all round outstanding human and so much more”.
The osteopath has been described by loved ones as a “ray of sunshine” with a “beautiful zest for life”.
Dawn Singleton, daughter of multimillionaire businessman John Singleton, was just months out from her dream wedding with her childhood sweetheart when she was killed by Cauchi.
The 25-year-old only bought her wedding dress a week ago.
“She was just the most perfect human being that I’ve ever met. She’s so sweet, so humble, so down to earth,” friend Emmi Shannon told 7NEWS.
Architect Jade Young, 47, and security guard Faraz Tahir were also killed in the attack.
Young, a mother-of-two, was remembered by her employer at Georgina Wilson Associates as a talented architect whose life was cut short.
“Anyone who knew Jade knew what a beautiful, kind and warm soul she was,” Georgina Wilson said.
“We are completely devastated.”
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Fahir was described a “cherished” member of the Muslim community who died “while serving the public during this attack”.
Sydney economics student Yixuan Cheng, 27, from China was the last victim to be identified.
Her uncle said: “My only niece has flown to the distant kingdom of heaven. When I miss you, you must come to see me in your dream.”
The family of Cheng is travelling to Australia, as are the brothers of Tahir, a Pakistani refugee who was dedicated to serving the community.
Some family of those killed visited the shopping centre on Tuesday and were shown around inside by police.
It is not clear when the centre will be reopened to the public, but owner-operator Scentre Group said it was expected to be later this week.
