Fortnite fans will be disappointed to hear that the next major game update has been delayed on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch. Developer Epic Games was initially expected to drop update 30.10 on the morning of June 11, where it would be accompanied by a period of server downtime. Unfortunately, however, the studio has been forced to delay the launch of this season’s first big content drop until later this week. The good news is that you won’t have to sit through extended server downtime on Tuesday morning, while the bad news is that the next wave of Quests won’t be available until the update finally makes its debut. Instead, Fortnite update 30.10 will have a June 13 release date. The downtime schedule will be announced closer to the release.
Developer Epic Games confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter), but didn’t explain the exact reason for the delay.
“This week’s v30.10 release is planned for Thursday 6/13,” reads an Epic post. “Fortnite will be offline for a few hours of downtime, and we’ll follow up with exact timings for this soon.
“Please note that Battle Royale Week 3 Quests will not be available upon the timer rolling over tomorrow, and they will instead arrive with our v30.10 game update.”
In addition to a lack of Quests, the delay of the new update has resulted in Epic Games having to disable Nitro Fists in Fortnite tournaments. PostParty has also been disabled due to an issue.
Expect the recently released item and PostParty to be re-introduced when update 30.10 launches on June 13.
Likewise, Epic Games will make a selection of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, all the while adding new items and outfits.
According to Fortnite insiders such as Shiina, update 30.10 will introduce a new Mythic item.
That’s on top of new cosmetics in the item shop, as well as Super Styles for the latest skins available as part of the Battle Pass.
The imminent update is also expected to add the new Loot Island, as well as the Metallica collaboration for Fortnite Festival.
It’s not all good news, however, as Epic Games removes the Boogie Bomb and re-introduces the EMP.
Daily Express will be back later this week with a full list of timings and patch notes for Fortnite update 30.10.
