Hood, an “adorable” two-year-old male cat with a hood-like grey marking over his white face, is looking for his forever home.

“I’m not sure the reason for the name but, really cool markings,” said Toronto Humane Society (THS) spokesperson Lucas Solowey.
Hood may have come to the THS last December as a stray, but he acts like he wants to be a member of the family.
“He was dropped off by a citizen who found him wandering around the Eglinton and Mount Pleasant (Aves.) area,” said Solowey.
“He’s adorable. He’s smart, curious and affectionate. He’s very playful and he loves being pet. He’s always eager to approach and engage. He’s ready for a cuddle or a game at any time.”
Hood also has to be on a special diet for his feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD), a condition that affects the bladder and eurethra in cats.
“It can cause urinary discomfort and requires careful management and then in terms of caring for him, to keep him happy and healthy in his forever home, he’ll need a family that can take care of his special dietary needs,” said Solowey.

“He has to stick to a special diet to prevent urinary crystals and stones, which usually means prescription cat food made for urinary health. It’s also super important to make sure he stays well hydrated.”
But he still loves squeeze-tube treats.
“He knows what he likes,” said Solowey. “And he gets a kick out of eating his dry food from a puzzle feeder which keeps his mind sharp and entertained.”

Solowey thinks Hood would be fine with children, but he’s not sure about other pets.
“He has a really warm and affectionate and personality,” he said. “There’s no bite history. His ideal family would enjoy activities, playtime and training with him. And, yes, cats can be trained. Hood is loving his target training with his current foster parents, and he’s looking for a forever home where he can thrive with routine games and affection.”
