When I opened up this little purple pot, I felt a wave of nostalgia, in the best kind of way—something about the bouncy jelly texture of Florence By Mills Hit Snooze Lip Mask reminded me of toys I’d squish, bounce, and pop as a kid, like Silly Putty. But the more I played with the mask—and I did play with it, because it is very tempting to prod at its cool texture—the more I realized it’s really nothing like Silly Putty. It’s true the bouncy texture makes it more fun than the usual lip mask, but it also has a pretty berry sheen that’s soft and juicy looking on lips—it’s so pretty, it rivals lip gloss. And the formula’s ingredients—apricot kernel oil, castor seed oil, squalane—make it especially hydrating and way more elegant than Silly Putty. I like to use the mask before bed or for about 15 minutes during the day. I tap it onto my lips and then wipe off the excess when it’s time to take it off.
