Taylor Swift fans have rallied together to help an Adelaide Fringe performer find last-minute outfits for a Swift tribute show she is hosting this week.
Singer-songwriter and former The Voice contestant Ella McClean travelled from Adelaide to Sydney on Thursday to watch her idol Taylor Swift perform one of her sold-out shows.
She took two outfits with her that she also planned to wear when she and her sister, Sienna, performed at their Adelaide Fringe show Reputation: The Ultimate Taylor Swift show.

On the way back from Sydney, McClean and Sienna had a layover in Canberra, then Melbourne before they arrived in Adelaide.
Somewhere between the flight changes, the checked-in bag carrying McClean’s outfits was lost.
“We spent a couple of days on the phone with the airlines, and they don’t update their lost baggage system for 24 hours, or it could be up to a week, so that was a little bit unhelpful,” she said.
“I just thought there are so many Swifties in Adelaide and so many people who probably have the same outfit, it wouldn’t hurt to see who can help me out, just for this week, just for the shows.”
McClean was not wrong. Within hours, she had over 100 shares of her social media post and 10 strangers message her, offering alternative outfits for her to wear before her first show in Adelaide on Thursday, February 29.
“I’ve got so many messages just saying my friend has this dress or here’s a dress that’s similar and everyone’s been so kind and saying they’ll drop it off to me,” she said.
McClean has been able to find the same gold dress she lost in her luggage through social media, and is now looking for a second outfit that will match her sister.
“I’ve been messaging this lovely girl who wore the same thing (I wore) at one of the Sydney shows, and she reached out to me, and she was in my size, so I’m thinking I’m going to pick that up from her tomorrow night,” she said.
McClean said without the help of the public, it would have been almost impossible for her to find an appropriate sparkly outfit in-store or have it delivered on time if she bought it online.
“I’m just so grateful … there’s this unspoken bond (between Taylor Swift fans) because we’ve all grown up listening to her music … I can’t believe people are so generous and so concerned with a little problem (of mine),” McClean said.
Musical duo Ella & Sienna are performing Reputation: The Ultimate Taylor Swift show at the Arkaba Hotel on Thursday and Sunday, with tickets starting at $30.
“It’s a 90-minute big, big production and Sunday’s (show) is sold out,” McClean said.
