Former Rep. David Jolly (R-Fla.) said that as things stand right now, Donald Trump will lose the election as voters grow tired of his act and more enthusiastic about Vice President Kamala Harris.
“He’s more like the aging rock star whose fans have kind of faded away, so it’s more like a reunion tour for him,” Jolly ― a longtime Trump critic ― said on MSNBC on Sunday. “It just doesn’t quite have the spark it had in 2016, and the lack of enthusiasm is there as well and he’s not helping himself.”
“Lindsey Graham is right,” Jolly said. “Donald Trump will likely lose to Vice President Harris as we stand here today.”
Jolly said Trump’s team has been trying to “throw the kitchen sink” at Harris with a wide range of attacks but so far “nothing’s sticking.” He said Harris seems to have the popular vote locked up, and the Electoral College vote is moving in her direction as well.
“Vice President Harris is in position to win this race,” he said, adding that persuadable voters are also turning toward her.
“The reality is, most persuadables are more substantive and less reflexive in their partisan loyalty, and those are the voters that are looking at Vice President Harris saying, ‘I like the direction she’s willing to take this country,’” he said.
