US political journalist Alice Stewart has died aged 58.
The Emmy-award-winning CNN journalist, who was best known for her works on presidential campaigns, died at a home in North Virginia on Saturday.

Law enforcement told CNN no foul play was suspected and the death was thought to have been a medical incident.
Mark Thompson, the network’s CEO, said in an email to staff: “Alice was a very dear friend and colleague to all of us at CNN.
“A political veteran and an Emmy Award-winning journalist who brought an incomparable spark to CNN’s coverage, known across our bureaus not only for her political savvy, but for her unwavering kindness.”
“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn such an extraordinary loss.”
Stewart’s final Instagram post was a photo from the newsroom with colleagues Wolf Blitzer and Maria Cardonadc, shared the day before she died.
“It’s always a sunny day when you can join the great @wolfblitzer on #CNN with @mariacardonadc!” she said.
The three journalists were seen smiling behind the newsdesk.
Bitzer has since shared a tribute, uploading the same photo alongside a heartfelt caption.
“I’m so sad that my friend and CNN colleague @alicestewartdc has passed away,” he said.
“It was only yesterday when she joined @mariacardonadc and me for her always excellent political analysis.
“She was a very special person and we will miss her. May she rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing.”
Friends and followers posted tributes online, with one writing: “I am heartbroken 💔 Alice my friend we will miss your civility and goodness. Rest well sister”.
“Rest in peace, Alice! Devastating news as you were always so kind and warm to me! You will truly be missed!” a second said.
“Beyond horrible. Only 58 and a marathon runner. So awful, so shocking. Many thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends,” added another.
Stewart finished a 10-mile (16 km) fun run on April 8.
“Picture perfect morning for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler in Washington DC!” she said at the time.
She previously ran the TCS New York City Marathon.
