Emma Roberts can be seen carrying two bags this summer—one of which includes her Zach Bryan tote bag. She recently did a purge of all the totes she’s accumulated, and has found herself with only 60 left to choose from. (One can never have too many totes.) “I shouldn’t have gotten rid of any of them, but this one is pretty spectacular,” she says, before explaining to Vogue what she typically packs in it.
Her tote is filled to the brim with all the essentials for someone on the go: a book from her book club, Kiko lipgloss for a summery red lip, Evian face mist for a quick refresh, and a pack of peanut M&M’s, to name a few things. “I always need M&M’s–especially when I’m traveling, or in a hotel; they’re a great source of protein,” she jokes.
Roberts also keeps some personal items close by, including her son’s first school photo, her childhood blanket—which she calls an “anxiety rag”—and stamps. “I’m old school and like sending postcards from everywhere I go to my family,” Roberts shares. “Even if I’m staying in a hotel, and I’m away from my son, I’ll send a postcard from the hotel—nothing gives me more joy than getting mail, and I like to give that joy to other people.”
