Leave it to Dua Lipa to have the coolest birthday dress. In the middle of touring her latest album, Radical Optimism, the singer paused to celebrate her 29th birthday.
We wouldn’t expect anything less from Lipa ringing in the last year of her 20s: dancing with friends and family (and beau Callum Turner) on a palm tree-filled island. And for such a fete, one needs an equally spectacular outfit—so Lipa turned to designer Dilara Findikoglu for her show-stopping birthday look.
The look somehow managed to one-up last year’s birthday raver girl fit. The PLUR princess traded in her 28th birthday look—a Gucci bralette, lilac pants, neon pink bolero, oversized red shades, and a mountain of necklaces—for the opening look from Findikoglu’s spring 2023 show: a sheer nude dress lined with panels of red fabric spilling out of the dress’s keyhole and slits.
As if it wasn’t sultry enough, the diaphanous dress was riddled with hook-and-eye closures all down the length of the body. Always one to make a look her own, Lipa chose to wear the red layer on the outside of the dress, and added a black bra and panties set underneath. Playing off of her black underwear, she accessorized with black strappy pointy-toe heels.
She may not be 30 yet—but in this Dilara dress, Dua Lipa is already flirty and thriving.
