Driver killed in three-vehicle crash in Murrumburrah, NSW

A person has died in a three-vehicle crash in the south of NSW on Wednesday morning.

Two cars and a truck carrying 500 sheep crashed just before 10.50am on Burley Griffin Way, Murrumburrah, about 70km east of Yass.

The driver of one of the cars, who has not yet been identified, died before police or paramedics got to the scene.

The 64-year-old male driver of the second vehicle and the 28-year-old male truck driver were not injured.

Both were taken to Harden Hospital for mandatory testing.

None of the sheep on board the truck were injured in the incident.

“Officers from The Hume Police District have established a crime scene are awaiting the arrival of specialist police,” NSW Police said.

Burley Griffin Way between Murrumburrah and Wallendbeen is expected to remain closed for some hours.

Traffic diversions are in place however motorists are urged to avoid the area.

Anyone with any information or dashcam footage has been urged to contact Young Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
