Dream Home contestants Taeler and Elle’s secret has been exposed as the sisters finally appear to acknowledge they took too much money in the budget division this week.
The sisters ruffled feathers on Monday night’s episode when they took $27,000 of the $40,000 budget, leaving brothers Rhys and Liam with $8,500 and couple Lara and Peter with $4,500.

The latter couple struggled significantly with their minuscule budget, going to the sisters numerous times to ask for extra cash.
However, they wouldn’t budge, insisting that the division was fair.
So to make it work, Lara and Peter, with the help of Rhys and Liam, “desperately” put in extra hours, blood, sweat and tears to make it work, largely completing the work themselves.
Meanwhile, Taeler and Elle cruised through the week with their many tradies at hand, crafting a very expensive bathroom.
Elle smugly told the cameras during Tuesday’s episode that she was “100 per cent confident we’re going to win”.
“It doesn’t sit very nicely,” Lara said of the sisters walking around with their “chests puffed” as the others struggled from exhaustion.
“We have tried to do the best we can with the budget we were given., but it will be worth it for Johnny and Hannah.”
“We want Jonny and Hannah to have a house where every room is awesome. I feel like we could have done more, but we couldn’t.”
Lara and Peter were chatting with Rhys and Liam about finances, revealing they were struggling to make ends meet to pay off the tradies they did employ.
“You know with us that if we have any money left over, we’ll give it to the house,” Liam assured them.
“But I’ll tell you what will s*** me though, is if they’ve got heaps,” Peter said of the sisters.
“Oh mate! Why don’t we just ask them,” Rhys suggested, before pulling Elle into the conversation.
“We’re having a budget chat, how are you going for cash?” he asked, with Elle casually responding that they were “definitely going to have a budget left over, that’s for sure.”
“Don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but we only need another $4000 to finish the rest, which means we have at least $6000 (left),” she revealed.
“That’s f***** up. Six?” Lara asked.
“Woah!” Rhys said, “Are you for real?”
“Yeah,” Elle bluntly said.
“Why didn’t you tell us a few days ago?” Rhys asked.
Elle said they were now willing to hand over the cash, but it seemed too little too late.
“If we had had it initially, I would have designed that room so differently,” Lara told her.
“Right,” Elle said.
Peter then jumped in, going back to when the groups divvied up the labour budget, which he called a “piss-take”.
“We got ripped off,” Lara added.
“There’s no way we’re sitting on the sidelines again and letting that happen because this has been really tough.”
Elle did not seem bothered, later telling producers, “It’s ultimately their issue, I’ll be laughing in my pretty bathroom”.
She went to tell her sister Taeler, who assumed the other groups were just “jealous” of what they “achieved” in their bathroom.
After Elle left, Peter remarked to Lara, Rhys and Liam, “Their buffer was bigger than our starting point.”
“They have put themselves and the competition before Jonny and Hannah’s home.”
Lara and Peter were struggling to understand how the sisters justified taking so much money.
“They were going to get us to take away from the kitchen, and now they have $6000 left over. How is that OK?” Lara asked the producers.
“They can f*** right off.
“It’s so frustrating to know that we could not use that money to design that room better than what it is.
“I think it’s going to become more and more clear that money is going down the drain in this cycle,” Peter added.
