Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2024 release time, update 7.3.5 patch notes, Skimmer and more | Gaming | Entertainment

Destiny 2 developer Bungie is about to unleash the Guardian Games for 2024. The next Guardian Games event has a March 5 release date and a 6pm GMT UK launch time. One of the more exciting Destiny 2 events in a long time, the Guardian Games introduces a new vehicle, as the Skimmer joins the game. Like Destiny meets Tony Hawk’s, the Skimmer is a hoverboard that can be used to perform tricks, grind rails and “stylishly skim” across the map.

Bungie explains more: “It’s the time of the year when Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans compete against each other for honour, gear, and the bragging rights that come with being the winners of Guardian Games All-Stars!

“Eva Levante will be back at the Tower as your event manager, and she has a very special surprise for you all.”

According to Bungie, the new Skimmer is called the Allstar Vector and will be available for everyone to earn during Guardian Games All-Stars.

Fans can pick up the Skimmer from Eva Levante after completing the onboarding quest. To unlock it permanently, you’ll need to complete the Drop In quest.

Needless to say, the new Destiny 2 event launches alongside a big patch, as update 7.3.5 hits the servers.

You can check out the early update 7.3.5 patch notes below.

Destiny 2 update 7.3.5 early patch notes…

• A reduction in uptime for Threaded Specter.

• A few changes to Threadlings to make them easier to deal with in the Crucible.

• A fix for the Restoration timer extension issue, with a few corresponding changes to relevant Solar Fragments.

• A small number of ability buffs that we’re pulling forward from our balance pass in The Final Shape.

Threaded Specter

• Ensnaring Slam

 – Reduced class ability regeneration penalty duration by 50% in PvE activities.

• Threaded Specter

 – Now applies the same class ability regeneration penalty used by Ensnaring Slam when the player creates a Threaded Specter.

 – Increased Threaded Specter detonation damage by 25% vs. PvE combatants.

Threadlings

• Increased aim assist shape size from 0.41m to 0.5m (this makes aim assist more effective against them, making them easier to shoot)

• Reduced base damage vs. enemy players from 40 to 35.

• Damage with Thread of Evolution equipped reduced vs. enemy players from 45 to 38.5.

• Fixed an issue where groups of Threadlings were not reliably chain detonating when one was destroyed.

• Fixed an issue where Threadlings sometimes did not play their (non-damaging) destruction performance when destroyed by enemy fire, resulting in them appearing to blip out of existence.

Maps

• Additional map spawning quality of life pass.

 – Addressing spawn traps for Eternity and Fortress.

 – Removing all backfield spawns for non-Rift modes: The Citadel, Cathedral of Dusk, Disjunction, and Convergence.

 – This will effectively make these maps play 30-50% smaller than they do currently and reduce the amount of time spent running back to combat after spawning.

• Major tuning of the initial spawning, Heavy ammo crate, and tiebreaker zone locations for all maps.

• We are also making changes to our workflows that will allow us to update the above variables more easily. In the future, we’ll be able to more quickly address issues with map imbalance and spawning.

 – For example, the next time Dead Cliffs returns for Trials, it will have changes made to the spawns, zones, and Heavy ammo placement to make it more balanced.

Destiny 2 Guardians Games launches on the same day that The Witch Queen joins the PS Plus Essentials line-up.

The Destiny 2 expansion introduces a new location, alongside a new campaign, weapons and lots more.

“Delve into Savathûn’s Throne World to uncover the mystery of how she and her Lucent Hive stole the Light,” reads the official description.

“Learn the secrets to crafting new weapons, the new Glaive, and survive the truth within her web of lies. A twisted wonderland of corruption and splendor, Savathûn’s Throne World plays host to a fragile balance of power.

“From her palace to the swamp, all that she hides can be found here. Create custom weaponry with unique mod, shader, and stat combinations. Master the new Glaive weapon type and unleash powerful melee combos, projectile attacks, and a deployable energy shield.”
