David Knezevich pleads not guilty to kidnapping charge

(NewsNation) —- David Knezevich, who is charged with kidnapping in connection to the disappearance of his wife, pleaded not guilty during a court appearance Monday in Miami, Florida.

Ana Knezevich Henao was staying in Madrid, Spain, at the time she went missing. She and David Knezevich had been separated and going through a contentious divorce after 13 years of marriage. Together they had owned a computer support service for South Florida businesses.

Last seen entering her apartment on February 2, Ana Knezevich Henao was reported missing days later after she didn’t show up to meet a friend to travel to Barcelona.

Recently, Spanish authorities released a video showing David Knezevich buying duct tape and spray paint at a Madrid hardware store. Just hours before, he had been seen spray painting a surveillance camera at his estranged wife’s apartment.

David Knezevich was arrested last month when he returned to Miami from his native Serbia. He is being held without bail.

The FBI and Spanish national police are investigating the case. Law enforcement agencies in David Knezevich’s native Serbia and Colombia, where Ana Knezevich Henao is from, are also reportedly involved.
