A power bank sold at multiple popular retailers has been recalled over fears it could catch fire.
The Cygnett MagMove 5K Dual Magnet Power Bank has been recalled by Product Safety Australia (PSA).
The product was sold nationally between September 2023 and March 2024 at several retailers such as JB HiFi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, Telstra and The Good Guys.

PSA said the wireless phone charger may overheat and catch fire, posing a risk of “serious burn injury” or damage to property
Cygnett said the decision to pull the new product from shelves was “not taken lightly” but came following a negative review and alleged defect.
It also said it was the first time it had recalled a power bank.
“By taking any feedback seriously and acting upon it promptly, Cygnett continues to demonstrate its commitment to offering the best, most advanced and accessible accessories on the market,” it said.
“As Cygnett addresses this issue, it remains open and transparent with its customers, further strengthening the trust and loyalty that have been the foundation of its successes over the past two decades.”
Consumers have been urged by PSA to stop using the power banks “immediately”.
“Return power banks to the place of purchase for a full refund,” it said.
