Investigators are appealing to the public for help identifying a man wanted for a violent assault in North York earlier this month.

Toronto Police officers responded to an assault call in the area of Sheppard Ave. E. and Hwy. 404 just after 8:30 p.m. on June 15.
The victim was walking on the sidewalk of Sheppard Ave. overlooking the highway when several people approached from behind on bicycles, police said in a statement released Saturday.
One man allegedly made a demand for the victim to make space, but the victim told the man there was no space to make.
The man then allegedly pushed the victim to the ground, punched and kicked him in the head, then cycled away.
Police have released images of a suspect hoping someone will recognize him and come forward.
The man is described as 25 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-10, with a medium build, short black hair and unshaven. He was wearing a black zip-up jacket with white writing on the left sleeve, black sweatpants, black running shoes and white socks.

The suspect was riding a black bicycle with thick profile tires.

MAN WOUNDED IN YORKVILLE SHOOTING
A man was injured when gunfired erupted in upscale Yorkville Friday night.
Toronto Police say the shooting occurred near Cumberland St. and Avenue Rd. shortly after 9 p.m.
Officers responded to the scene and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
But police said his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Cops are looking for a suspect described as a Black man with dreadlocks who was wearing white clothing.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this shooting or the suspect’s identity is asked to call police 416-808-5300.

A man has been arrested after he allegedly hit a police cruiser with a vehicle intentionally in Whitby on Thursday.
Durham Regional Police allege an officer noticed a vehicle with a stolen license plate in the area of Thickson Rd. and Nichol Ave. around 2:30 p.m.
The officer tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and struck the police cruiser before fleeing the area, police claim.

Police allege a suspect vehicle was abandoned and the driver got into a second vehicle, which was located in the area of Thickson Rd. and Victoria St., where police blocked it from fleeing and took a suspect into custody.
There were no injuries.
Shaundrey Knight-Bryce, 22, of Oshawa, is charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order.
MAN, 27, WANTED FOR ASSAULT IN CITY’S ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT
Investigators need assistance finding a suspect sought for an aggravated assault in the city’s Entertainment District earlier this month.
Toronto Police say a fight broke out between two groups in the area of King St. W. and Spadina Ave. around 2:40 a.m. on June 9.
The fight turned physical and two victims suffered serious injuries, police said in a statement reelased Saturday.
The assailant fled the area in a vehicle.
Investigators subsequently identified a 27-year-old man as a suspect in the violent incident.
Angelo Cristo Tambas, of no fixed address, is wanted for two counts of aggravated assault.
