CRIME SCENE: Peel cops accuse man, 31, of sex trafficking

A Hamilton man is facing multiple charges following a sex-trafficking investigation involving an underage girl in the Greater Toronto Area.

Peel Regional Police allege the suspect exercised control over numerous aspects of the victim’s life and forced her to perform sex while profiting from it.

Mohammed Karim Mohammed, 31, was charged with trafficking persons under 18 years old, procuring person under 18 years old, receive benefit from trafficking, communicate for sexual service, material benefit sex services, householder permit sexual activity, assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.

He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area.

THREE WANTED FOR BREAK AND ENTER

Toronto Police are seeking the public’s help to identify three suspects after property was stolen from storage lockers in North York on Wednesday.

Police say, shortly after 3 a.m., officers responded to a call for a break and enter in the O’Connor Dr. and Sunrise Ave. area.

It is reported that three suspects arrived at the complainant’s building and proceeded to break into the building. The suspects then broke into the storage room and subsequently broke into multiple storage lockers.

Cops say the suspects stole property from the storage lockers and then left the building. The suspects then left the scene prior to officers arriving at the scene.

The first suspect is described as a male with a medium build and wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, black pants, black and white shoes, red shirt, black satchel, and wearing a grey mask.

The second suspect is described as a male with a thin build and wearing a black baseball cap, black ski mask, black crew neck sweater with “VLTN” in red letters, black jeans ripped at the knees, black shoes, black satchel, black back pack and a light-coloured duffle bag.

The third suspect is possibly a female with a slim build and wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, black mask, black sweat pants with a Nike logo, black shoes and black leather bag.

MAN ACCUSED OF IDENTITY THEFT, STEALING VEHICLE

A 28-year-old Toronto man is facing numerous charges after police officers pulled over the driver behind the wheel of a stolen pickup truck.

Toronto Police say, on Thursday at approximately 7 p.m., the accused was allegedly driving a stolen Ford F-150 in the Sentinel Rd. and Finch Ave. W. area.

Police say officers were travelling southbound on Sentinel Rd. behind the truck when they were alerted by their licence plate reader that it was a stolen vehicle.

Officers followed the vehicle until the driver parked it, cops say. He was then placed under arrest.

Following the arrest, police say the suspect was found to have in his possession more than $30,000 in cash, a re-programmed vehicle key remote and identification in another person’s name.

Desmond Mubarik was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, unlawfully purchase automobile master key, driving a motor vehicle while suspended, two counts of possessing identity document of another, and possession of fraudulent citizenship document.

Investigators believe there may be more victims.
