A 25-year-old man from Mississauga has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of a woman in her 50s.

Peel Regional Police said the unidentified victim was found on Monday at about 9:30 a.m. at a motel in the Britannia Rd. E.-Whittle Rd. area.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Waleed Osman has been charged. Police said that Osman is related to the victim but this is not considered an intimate partner violence incident.

TORONTO MAN’S CHARGES UPGRADED TO SECOND-DEGREE MURDER

A 65-year-old Toronto man now faces second-degree murder charges in the death of a 57-year-old man.

Chandrika Rampat was initially charged with aggravated assault and assault but those were upgraded to the more seriouss charge after Mohamed Alladin, of Toronto, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

Toronto Police said officers went to a residence on May 16 at about 2:18 p.m. in the Eglinton Ave. E.-Birchmount Rd. area after it was alleged there was an altercation between the accused and the victim, who were known to each other

It’s alleged the accused assaulted the victim with an object and the victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries three days later.

SUSPECT SOUGHT IN CARJACKING

Durham Regional Police are looking for a suspect after a vehicle was allegedly stolen when the owner attempted to sell it from his residence in Pickering.

Authorities say on Thursday at about 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a carjacking in the area of Park Cres. and Cliffview Rd..

Police said the owner listed his vehicle for sale on an online selling platform and when the accused showed up at his residence to see it, he allegedly attempted to steal it.

The owner confronted the suspect, who allegedly pointed a firearm at him and fled the area in the vehicle. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

The suspect is described as brown male, approximately 5-foot-7, 20-25 years-old, with short black hair, a black beard and a slim build and was wearing a black hat, white shirt, and black pants.

2 MEN SOUGHT IN BREAK-AND-ENTER PROBE

Toronto Police are requesting the public’s help in locating two men wanted in a break-and-enter investigation.

Police said on May 9 at about 2:40 a.m., they responded to a call for a break-and-enter in the Danforth Ave.-Main St. area.

It was reported two suspects broke into a residential building and took two flat-screen TVs from the storage room and then fled the area in an unknown direction

Michael Visconti, 28, of Toronto, is wanted for three counts of break-and-enter commit, 17 counts of fail to comply release order and two counts of theft under $5000.

CASINO WORKER CHARGED

Provincial police have charged three people in connection with alleged illegal activity at a Pickering casino.

An investigation was launched on May 4 into allegations of a table games dealer in collusion with patrons at the casino.

Amadeo Rojas, 60, of Scarborough, has been charged with two counts each of criminal breach of trust, cheat at play, fraud over $5,000.

Noel Sarsonas, 66, of Scarborough, and Jeffery Pardinis, 33, of Pickering, have been charged with cheat at play and fraud over $5,000.
