An Ajax home was sprayed by gunfire in a drive-by shooting but fortunately nobody was hurt.

Durham Regional Police say they responded to an armed person call at Daniels Cr. and Matthew St. – near Rossland and Westney Rds. – after multiple gun shots were heard being fired around 6:50 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered multiple shell casings on the roadway in front of a home, police say. Upon closer inspection, officers noticed multiple bullet holes in the residence.
Police were unable to make contact with anyone inside the residence and entered the home to ensure there were no injuries. Once inside, officers confirmed there was no one at home, and no injuries have been reported since the shooting.

Police have since been able to contact the homeowners who confirmed no one was in the residence at the time of the shooting.
