Commuter chaos across Sydney train lines after extensive delays at Central Station

Sydney commuters are facing extensive delays on Monday morning, due to urgent track repairs on a broken rail at Central Station.

Travellers on the T1 North Shore and Western Line are being urged to allow more travel time.

It is believed there are some delays up to an hour.

“There will be gaps in service throughout the morning,” Sydney Trains said.

An image, posted to X (formerly Twitter), showed what appeared to be a crack in the rail infrastructure.

Repair teams are on-site, working to rectify the issue, Sydney Trains added.

Central Shuttle trains are running between Wynyard and Hornsby and between Berowra and North Sydney.

Metro trains and buses are also running as alternative transport options.
