A Coles click-and-collect customer was shocked when they unpacked a recent grocery delivery and found premium steaks straight from a cow with a weight problem.
Mandurah resident Chris Evans works full-time and has come to rely on his weekly click-and-collect grocery order after his wife gave birth to their first baby this year.
But he admitted that he often found the fresh produce selection lacking, saying he felt ripped off by the poor quality of products selected.

But a recent delivery of two porterhouse steaks took the cake and the lard.
The steaks cost the couple $7.50 a piece and came from the Halls Head Coles.
A porterhouse picture on Coles online shows a lightly marbled piece of meat with a thin layer of fat on one side.
However, when Chris weighed his meat delivery he found that the 180g steaks were about 30 per cent fat.
“We’ll probably eat it because (Coles) haven’t responded to the complaint,” he said.
“I’m shocked they packaged that. But I’m not surprised because the only way they could get rid of those steaks would be click-and-collect.”
Coles was asked if click-and-collect grocery selectors were trained on how to select produce but did not answer.
A spokesperson did tell PerthNow this was a one-off case.
“We always strive to meet our customers’ expectations and the quality of our meat is very important,” they said.
“Sirloin is known for being a lean cut of meat and this pack of meat is not to our high-quality standards and should have been identified and graded out at production.
“As always, we encourage customers to return any item they’re not 100% happy with to their nearest store for a full refund or replacement.”
Coles and Woolworths faced intense scrutiny this year after the supermarkets posted record profits amongst a cost-of-living squeeze.
Last month, the Federal Government announced it would accept all 11 recommendations of a recent review into the voluntary Food and Grocery Code of Conduct to protect suppliers and consumers after an outcry over checkout prices.
One of the recommendations included strengthening dispute resolutions and improving outcomes for suppliers of fresh produce.
