US star Brooke Shields has shared an emotional new video after hitting an all too relatable parenting milestone.
The 59-year-old, who has two children with her husband Chris Henchy, is officially an empty nester after moving her youngest daughter Grier Hammond Henchy into college.

It came three years after she did the same with her eldest daughter, Rowan Francis Henchy.
Returning home, Shields was struck by her new household reality, leading her to tears.
“I’m back on this porch and I am now officially an empty nester,” she said in an Instagram video, posted on Monday.
“And my little girl. She was just, they so … They’re together at least,” Shields says of her two daughters.
“But it’s really not … It’s not easy for the mums.
“I mean, it’s just so weird.
“It’s so weird that she’s not here. Anyway, it was really hard and then she started crying and then I really started crying and then I cried a good portion of the ride home.”
She ended the video: “So anyway, I’m an empty nester, wow.”
Friends of the actress were quick to offer words of support in the comments section.
“I know Brooke. But it gets a bit easier and always remember that we raised them to fly away!” journalist Deborah Roberts said.
Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth said: “I know how hard that must be. My bestie is going through that now.”
“Oh Brooke it’s so, so hard,” actress Deborah Messing said.
“It’s the end of an era and now you get to start a new chapter. But first you have to cry. A lot. I laid on my couch for 3 weeks and couldn’t speak to anyone.
“Be tender with yourself. It’s hard because it’s hard. All us empty nesters are sending you love.”
Both Shields’ daughters are studying at North Carolina’s Wake Forest University.
Rowan is now a senior, her fourth year at the university, while Grier is commencing her freshman, or first, year.
Shields married film director Chris Henchy in 2001.
