“His death was sudden and unexpected and no further details around its cause are yet available.
“A prodigiously talented actor, he had just returned from Sydney, where he had been appearing in The Lehman Trilogy and was looking forward to continuing the international tour in San Francisco.”
Schiller’s sister Ginny also confirmed the news via her late brother’s Instagram and X accounts and shared fundraiser details to help support his partner Milena and their young son, Gabriel.
“Dear all. This is Ginny. I’m so sorry to let you all know that our beloved brother Adrian died suddenly at home yesterday,” she said.
“He had so many very dear friends — sorry to those of you who are learning about this here. We will say more about funeral and/or memorial plans in due course.
“For now, we’re taking things one step at a time, supporting Milena and Gabriel as best we can and trying to get our heads around the unimaginable.
“Please don’t send flowers but if anyone wants to make a gesture, we will be setting up (a) trust for Gabriel and there’s a link below.”
Actor Richard Armitage responded: “Oh Ginny. I’m so sorry to hear about Adrian. My thoughts are with you and your family.”
“Absolutely shocked to hear this awful news. Thoughts and prayers with the family at this most heartbreaking of times,” British media personality Alasdair Scott said.
Scott played Aethelhelm in the 2015 Netflix series The Last Kingdom and one year later Cornelius Penge in the drama series, Victoria.
Other credits include Doctor Who, the live-action of Beauty And The Beast, Death In Paradise, The Musketeers, and A Touch Of Frost.
Most recently he was touring internationally for the play The Lehman Trilogy, wrapping up the Sydney leg of the tour before his death.
He took his final on-stage bow on March 24 at the Theatre Royal Sydney.
“We are deeply saddened and shocked to have lost our company member and friend, Adrian Schiller,” The Lehman Trilogy’s official Instagram said.
“He was a highly respected and much-loved part of the company.”
Theatre Sydney Royal on Friday morning said it was “deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news of Adrian Schiller’s sudden passing”.
“Adrian played the role of Henry Lehman in @thelehmantrilogy during its season here last month,” it said.
“He was a highly respected and much-loved member of the production and we are privileged to have known him.”
