Brad Pitt is revisiting a location that holds special memories of his time with Angelina Jolie while filming his new movie. Ironically his estranged ex has also been in the area filming recently.
Brad is currently shooting F1 in which he plays Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver who is enticed back into the sport as a mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). The production team are currently building one of their sets in a garage at the Hungaroring race track in Budapest.
Brad will fly in tonight (July 18) to shoot his scenes over the weekend before moving to Monza next week. It isn’t the actors first visit to the country as in 2010 he and Angelina lived there while she was directing In The Land of Blood and Honey. Coincidentally Angelina has also been in the country filming a Maria Callas biopic. Budapest was one of the locations for the movie, simply called Maria, alongside Paris, Greece, and Milan.
Brad and Angelina were a couple for 12 years. Their acrimonious split has seen Brad publicly “dumped” by five of the six children they share. All but one of them have dropped his name and now prefer to be known by only their mother’s last name rather than the double-barreled “Jolie-Pitt” on their birth certificates and adoption papers.
His family issues aside Brad has impressed the crew on his latest project with his down to earth attitude. “Brad has really been part of the team. It’s not like he’s a big star and really mucks in with everyone,” a source exclusively told Express.co.uk.
“He loves going out for drinks with the crew when filming wraps and is very mellow these days,” they added.
Brad has spent a lot of time on UK soil in recent months as the team have been doing a lot of filming on the Grand Prix circuit [at Silverstone].
He has clearly developed a taste for the sport as earlier this month he was spotted enjoying the British Grand Prix in his downtime.
He arrived with his partner Ines De Ramon and the couple held hands as they strolled along the trackside.
The Hollywood production sees seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton in the role of co-producer.
Britain’s Grand Prix icon joined the team last year as a consultant and co-producer of the big-budget action film.
Filming faced delays due to the US actors’ and writers’ strike last year. However they are now back on track and poised for a release date of June 2025.
It is being directed by Top Gun Maverick, director Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer so is an assured blockbuster.
