7NEWS understands if the bones are confirmed human, an early line of investigation will be whether they could be Lynette Simms’ remains.

Simms went missing in 1982 and her husband Chris Dawson was found guilty of her murder.

Dawson worked at Cromer High School, a kilometre away from the current crime scene.
