“Not an ideal way to end the day…” he wrote on Instagram.

“Witnessed a motorcycle accident, the passenger was flung across the road.

Gladstone said he stabilised the passenger’s neck, and she was assessed in the middle of the road until firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene.

“I felt quite sick after this but as I sit here I believe she will be OK — probably multiple broken bones, hand, skin off everywhere but could have easily killed her,” Gladstone wrote.

“I’m blown away by the amount of people that came to help.

“The off-duty paramedic (Jason I think) was brilliant.

“We had doctors and another paramedic ask if we needed help also.

“People blocked the road and an amazing woman in a dress ended up with the patient’s blood all over her…

“Great to see people helping others ❤️❤️.”

‘That was awful’

In an accompanying video, Gladstone spoke to the camera, showing the devastation at the scene as paramedics assisted the injured woman.

“This was about an hour ago … trying to process it below,” he captioned the video.

“Ah, that was awful,” he said.

“Um yeah, fortunate to know first aid to support someone through a traffic accident.

“Amazing off-duty paramedic came to support me, I’ve got someone’s blood on me”.

Gladstone’s followers thanked him for rushing to help.

“You are the man,” Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac said.

“Good on you Deano, you stepped up mate when needed,” said another.

“Fortunate you were there, thanks for being a stellar human,” a third follower added.

Others noted how important it was to have basic first aid skills.

“First aid skills are a no-brainer,” one fan said.

“Everyone should have them.

“Well done legend.”

“Wild!” said another.

“I’m glad (for her sake) you were one of the first responders and had a wealth of knowledge and experience.

“Look after yourself too, bro.”

That sentiment was echoed by many others who knew that, despite being a trained surf lifeguard, such moments could be overwhelming.

“Sending you a big hug Deano, that’s a lot to process,” one follower wrote.

“Hope everyone involved is OK.”

“Well done, love,” added another.

“Look after your nervous system, that’s such a lot, I know that feeling of (being a) first responder.”

Horror Bali accident

Gladstone knows a thing or two about nasty accidents.

In 2022, the reality TV star opened up about a horror accident in Bali which left the tips of his toes partially severed.

“The brilliant Indonesian doctors managed to get them back on (my pinkie was a bit crooked), but the prognosis wasn’t great,” he revealed.

“One doctor said the toe wouldn’t survive, and the other said my chances were slim.

“I’d been in hospital for over a week and my son was less than 10 weeks old!

“If you look closely, I only have 9.5 toes — a pretty good result.”

Gladstone’s followers were shocked by the story, but glad to hear he had recovered well.

“This is wild,” one follower wrote.

“Thank you for sharing.”

“That would tingle a little,” wrote another.

“Nasty! I’m glad to hear that you’ve recovered.”
