Three people are dead, and five others injured after a speed boat and a fishing boat collided Saturday night on Bobs Lake, north of Kingston, Ont.

OPP say the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the Bucks Bay-area of the lake.

They say two women, ages 21 and 22, and a 23-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene, reported the Canadian Press.
Five others, between the ages of 21 and 44, were transported to a local hospital with a range of injuries.
Police say one boat was described as an open-bow, fishing-style boat and the other as a speed boat.
OPP spokesman Bill Dickson says an investigation is underway but did not provide further details.
MAN SHOT IN SCARBOROUGH
A man is in hospital after a Saturday night shooting in Scarborough.
The shooting happened at 2:50 a.m. on Cotton Ave. in the Danforth Rd.-Kennedy Rd. area.
Toronto Police say there was a dispute outside the house.

A man was shot and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

IMPAIRED DRIVER HITS FIRE TRUCK
A 29-year-old Brampton man is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle hit a fire truck.
The OPP said the fire truck was protecting the scene of another collision when it was hit at 2:26 a.m. on Saturday on Hwy. 403, at Aberdeen Ave., in Hamilton.
There were no injuries.
HATE MOTIVATED MISCHIEF
Toronto Police are looking for a suspect after outer glass doors and windows were damaged at a synagogue.
Police describe the vandalism, which happened Friday at 3:30 a.m. the Bayview Ave.-Fifeshire Rd. area, as an act of suspected hate-motivated mischief.
The suspect, who fled the area, was wearing a blue hooded jacket, black pants and back shoes.

PROVINCAL WATCHDOG INVESTIGATES DEATH
The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman who died in police custody on Friday morning.
Barrie Police Service officers arrested the woman Thursday night for outstanding warrants. She was taken to the station and held in a cell.
On Friday evening, an OPP special constable transported the woman from the Barrie Police Service station to Central North Correction Centre.
The woman was unresponsive in the vehicle and taken to hospital in Midland, where she was pronounced dead.
