The Toronto Blue Jays recalled right-handed pitcher Ryan Burr from triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
Burr will be active for Saturday’s game against the Texas Rangers (3 p.m ET / noon PT on Sportsnet).
The 30-year-old Burr has made 10 relief appearances with the Blue Jays this season with a 5.40 ERA and nine strikeouts over 10 innings.
Toronto also transferred closer Jordan Romano to the 60-day injured list to make room for Burr.
Romano, 31, has been limited to 15 games due to right elbow inflammation. He has a 6.59 ERA, 13 strikeouts and eight saves over 13.2 innings.
Earlier Saturday, the Blue Jays traded reliever Nate Pearson to the Chicago Cubs for infielder Josh Rivera and outfielder Yohendrick Pinango.
