The Blue Jays’ minor-league pitcher, who made his MLB debut with the team last August before immediately suffering a season-ending injury, took that beef public on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter.

It seems Danner had previously told Topps officials that the photo they were planning to use was, in fact, someone else.

Yet it appears the company went ahead and issued the card anyways.

“Definitely not even close to being me,” Danner wrote on X. “What do we got @Topps?? Told you guys it wasn’t me and still released.”

Danner is currently at triple-A Buffalo with the Bisons and is on the Jays’ 40-man roster. He was the triple-A pitcher brought up in August when the Jays sent Alek Manoah back to the minors for the second time last season.

Another professional pitcher, Bradin Hagens, seemed to set the record straight, replying to the post to say that “that is definitely me from my time in double AA Mobile back in either 2013 or 2014.”
