Blonde Julia Roberts, It’s So Good to See You Again — See the Photos

Move over, PB & J, Mary-Kate and Ashley, and Julia Roberts and George Clooney. Summer and blonde hair are the real dynamic duo, as evidenced by Roberts’s fresh new hair color. The actor just went super light for the sunny season, leaving her signature autumnal red shade in the past, and it’s so good to see Blonde Julia once more. It’s been awhile!

Colorist Kadi Lee of Highbrow Hippie salon was behind the transformation and detailed the painstaking process of taking the star from auburn to buttery golden blonde. “When making drastic color changes, in this case from red to blonde, my approach is always the same: slow and methodical, while always keeping the health and integrity of the hair first and foremost,” Lee wrote on Instagram. Though Lee didn’t share any in-process pics, there’s no doubt that this was a slow and steady color change to avoid stressing out Roberts’s gorgeous hair. According to Lee, Facebook reminded her that she did a very similar color transformation for the Oscar winner seven years ago, so while time may go by, the craving to lighten up come summer never fades.

Prior to the color change, Roberts’s hair was a classic red similar to the one she wore in her early days in Hollywood; the last time she could be considered “blonde” was back in 2021, when she added lots of honey highlights to her bronde base. Now, it’s a dimensional bright golden hue with depth at the root for a natural look. Stylist Serge Normant took off some length and styled the actor’s hair in loose waves, which she wore to attend a fundraiser alongside her pal Clooney. The star’s bangs have grown out and now blend into the waves, beautifully framing her face.
