Blacktown crash: Man dies as car crashes into tree, Walters Rd closed

A man has been killed as his car hit a tree in Sydney’s west overnight, with motorists urged to avoid the area as investigations continue.

The man, who is yet to be formally identified but believed to be aged in his 20s, was killed when the hatchback hit a tree on Walters Rd, Blacktown about 4.30am Thursday, police said.

Paramedics were called but the man could not be saved.

The area remains an active crime scene as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Walters Rd is blocked in both directions from Bungarribee Rd to Douglas Rd.

Police urged motorists to avoid the area.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
