And then she did just that — by revealing via social media that a new country-tinged album, Act II of her Renaissance project, would be released on March 29.
Two songs from the album, Texas Hold ‘Em and 16 Carriages, are already available to stream.
The multiple Grammy Award winner shared two images for the singles — one a very revealing picture of her in a black cowboy hat, black jacket and not much else.
The album follows on from 2022’s Renaissance Act I, which many fans consider one of her best albums.
Fans were ecstatic after the news dropped.
“Everyone say, THANK YOU BEY!” one fan wrote.
“You continue to break barriers, continue to push the boundaries, and continue to inspire,” wrote another.
“Now get that best country album Grammy!
“Let’s go!”
In the video shared to announce the album, a car is driving through the Texan countryside.
A group of men looks upwards at the sky as Beyonce sings, “This ain’t Texas. Ain’t no hold ‘em. So lay our cards down, down, down.”
In the Super Bowl Verizon ad, Beyonce tries to “break the internet” by hosting a lemonade stand, dropping a surprise saxophone album and announcing her run for “Beyonce of the United States.”
One fan wrote: “No one is better at marketing!!!!! 🙌🏿🔥”
Wrote another: “Taylor and Usher who?”
Beyonce was also pictured soon after at Allegiant Stadium watching the Super Bowl with husband Jay-Z.
