Best, worst from ASG: Skenes vs. Judge, Mason Miller thrives

The American League won the 2024 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night by a 5-3 margin.

Boston Red Sox centerfielder Jarren Duran was the big difference-maker in the game, hitting a two-run home run to break a 3-3 tie and making a strong defensive play to hold Cincinnati Reds speedster Elly De La Cruz to a single.

Here are some of the best and worst moments from Tuesday’s game.

The best of the All-Star Game

We got to see Paul Skenes vs. Aaron Judge: It may have only been one pitch, but this is the matchup everybody tuned in to see. There was some concern that it was not going to happen with Judge being placed in the No. 4 spot of the American League lineup, but Juan Soto’s two-out walk made it happen.

Shohei Ohtani’s home run: There is something about Ohtani home runs that just sound different than home runs hit by other players. There is just a thunderous crack off of his bat, especially on no-doubter home runs like the three-run shot he hit on Tuesday. That home run also helped him make some history as the only player to ever have a home run and a win as a pitcher in his career in the All-Star Game.

Trea Turner’s defensive gem: The best defensive play of the game was turned in by the Philadelphia Phillies shortstop when he made this diving stop up the middle, all while he was mic’d up and being interviewed on the broadcast.
